VBAC - Vaginal Birth After Cesarean Relaxation

This download is for women who have already received all of the information they need regarding the birth choices available to them. It is not designed to promote vaginal births after a cesarean, but simply to give women who have already made this decision, the skills and techniques to stay relaxed during their birth.

If you have not been given the information regarding the benefits and risks of vaginal births and the benefits and risks of cesareans, then it’s important that you get this information from your care provider.

It is quite natural to feel some anxiety about your decision to have a vaginal birth. You have probably heard a lot from your care providers about the risks of your scar opening up during labour, however they may not have told you some of the things which can help you work with your body. In particular, it is so important for you to relax. When we feel anxious, our muscles tense and as the uterus is a muscle it is key that we allow it to work as effectively as possible. This fits in with research where the increased risks were with mums who had been induced. In this scenario, the contractions are stronger as the body is forced to labour when it does not believe it is ready to do so.

In this download I will work with you to create a state of relaxation which, when practised, you will be able to switch on during your labour.
